Situated in North Dalmatia, not far from Sibenik, there is the most indented island group in the Mediterranean also known as the crown jewel of the Dalmatian island chain - Kornati. Due to its exceptional natural beauty, interesting geomorphology and particulary rich biological communities of marine ecosystems, the greater part of the Kornati archipelago was declared a national park in 1980. Kornati should be the focus of any cruise in the area because of many islands, islets and reefs which allow you to try out your nautical skills and all you need for this challenge is just a ticket to the Park.

If you’re looking for a relaxing holiday with your whole family; holiday which would give you all much needed rest but also be fun because of your little ones, Adriatic coast is the answer. Days filled with different activities, safe play in shallow waters and on pebbly, sandy and narrow beaches, and lots of entertainment for the youngest and their parents, well, those are the days spend on the Adriatic. On each beach you will find many families with kids so basically the whole coast is family friendly. Still, there are some beaches which offer more to families with children, from all sorts of diving or windsurfing activities, waterslides and other water sports for older children, pines shades and a nice place for children to have an ice cream and mom and dad a cold beer or cocktail.

In all that excitement while planning leisure activities, we seem to forget about basics of safety and accident prevention. Here are some tips from sailing experts on how to make your voyage safer and more fun.

Due to these recent serious accidents we want to remind you of what the dive flag means and what it requires of a boater. Accidents had one thing in common. They involved divers. Were their dive flags handy or just ignored? Obviously, since it’s called a “dive flag” you can conclude that it means that there are divers in the area around it. It is meant to effectively create a zone of safety around it.

Every year during the summer months, from 30th June to 27 July, the squares, streets and terraces of Rijeka are turned into theatre stages. Popular town locations, but also places that the citizens of Rijeka themselves find it difficult to envisage as a possible stage for actors and theatre props, are for a few weeks turned over to artists of a widely diverse styles of musical and scenic expression. The Festival program comprises everything, from classical drama productions, premieres of more recent works for drama theatre and concerts of classical music, to street theatres and concerts of pop stars. One of the crucial parts of the Festival is probing into the contemporary relations between the industrial architecture and theatre, which is why some of the productions are staged in the premises of old industrial plants.

A flotilla of dazzling white yachts glides into a sheltered cove. The put-put-put of their motors is no competition for the evening choir of cicadas. The whiteness of the yachts seems startling, a vivid contrast to the sea’s hypnotic palette of blues and turquoises...the deep orange roof tiles of a thousand-year-old town...the green pine woods beyond.

Split has plenty of personality and a spectacular coast to explore. The city of Split is well known as the holiday gateway to a spectacular stretch of coast, to beautiful islands and to thousands of years of history. However the city is often overlooked in favour of Dubrovnik to the south and the Istrian coast to the north. But the city and its environs are worth discovering. Behind a modern waterfront promenade is an astonishing building: Diocletian's Palace, a huge, square Roman citadel built in AD300. It was rebuilt largely in the 7th century and altered continuously since then but the base of the Roman walls, cellars and street plan remain. Along its southern facade are 42 windows, designed so that the Emperor Diocletian could enjoy a continuous view of the sea.

The above advices are valid for a normal storm when winds are up to 10 knots in strength. For anything above that your strategy must and will change. But in any case the best advice is to use common sense and if in doubt - don't go out. 1. Check the weather forecast. You need to know what weather you can expect before you leave the marina and during your time at the sea. Although this is obvious and common sense thinking, still, it is incredible how many ships leave port without that particular information. You can get the latest weather forecast information in the marinas, on the Internet, over the VHF stations etc ...
