The skipper was wonderful and Hvar was my favorite, although we loved the boat so much we rarely got off! :)!! There were a thousand issues such as engines breaking down and the pipes bursting and the boiler breaking...but the skipper fixed everything so quickly and it did not get in the way of our enjoyment one bit. Croatia is SO beautiful and the Croatian people were also beautiful - inside and out. It was the best vacation Carolyn and I have ever had and we are so grateful to you and Ultra for everything. The weather we experienced was good but not much wind so there was a lot of motoring. Some mooring costs were a bit more than we expected particularly Hvar harbour. In summary, we had a great time. The weather was inducive for good sailing, and the ports lived up to their reputation. This was our second bareboat trip to Croatia and we may return soon to travel north from Split. If you have some special offers early next year we may be interested. kind regards, Gordon M. . Our holiday in Croatia was mostly excellent. The boat was through PBZ leasing and, on the whole, we were satisfied with the service they provided. The boat however, an Elan 333, had a number of significant maintenance issues that needed to be addressed incuding poor cleaning, a leaking tap in the galley, a breakdown with the furling gear that lasted throughout our charter, halyard stoppers that broke, the auto pilot boke down near the end of the charter and the charts were in almost unusable condition. Also, there were no tools on the boat, and the outboard motor we rented didn't work for the whole charter, although the money was refunded for this. In all we were quite disappointed with the condition of the boat and hardware which will have a great deal of bearing on who we charter from in the future. I must emphasize again that the people at PBZ did work hard to make things better for us, but these are all things that could have been prevented with a proper yearly work-up prior to the charter season. This was clearly not done, and it affected the overall satisfaction we experienced. Yours Truly, Nick T. Drumheller, Canada First of all, we had a wonderful week in Croatia. We saw many nice places, met lots of friendly people and enjoyed good service all over. The boat was in general good conditon. Just a few small snags, but nothing crucial. The charter company provided good and friendly service. So all in all, we are very satisfied with the whole arrangement, from your excellent service during booking and planning, down to the bits and pieces underways. I will have no reservations about recommending your service to anyone who might ask. Best regards Torkel Our holiday was a great success. Besides a few minor problems with the boat we were very happy with it. The most important problems with the boat were : The GPS was lousy and bugged several times a day, obliging us to turn off and the then back on all the instruments. We had to install our own life-line.None was installed on the boat. Several snap hooks on the life-line belts were defective. The charts were in pretty bad shape. Other than that it was great That's about it. Geoffrey D. Lausanne We were satisfied with our Charter in general. They was only the problem of having to wait around for check-in and check-out - but it was out of season, so it could be expected. We found yacht base really easy to deal with, very helpful. A number of agents didnt bother to reply to our enquiry. AC Yachting at Biograd were great and again helpful. The yacht was well presented and we had no problems. Charts though were very worn almost difficult to use and the last stretch to Dubrovnick had to be sailed on the plotter. For the price it was very good value and we will probably visit again in 2007. The whole area was beautiful, we wont mention our favourite spots as they will get overcrowded. Jemma and Will Yes we did enjoy our carter in Croatia. We lost two days in the b ora, but who can do something about the whether? We where pleas e d with the boat, but would have liked a bit better sails. Some controlled strategic waypoints on paper and in the GPS would have helped to, sins th e y had removed the charts from the plotter. Rout suggestions for the area would also been nice, with bays to stop for lunch or anchor over night in. W e was helped by your manager. We also would have liked a overview chart and more comfortable life jackets. We will bring our own next time. The things we were not pleased with was that we couldn't play the cd records we brought, and that the charts was removed from the plotter. We also missed the manual for the GPS. The only one negative thing I can remember was the lack of hot water on our boat, but, eventually, it was not so important. We had a perfect The friendly staff of Adria-Holidays supported us very much and we would be best compliments for service. All Ok, only the boat was more light for sea (the type of boat, Dufour duo is a lake boat), in all case good holidays, without problems. Very friendly the guys of harbour, and very quickly the check in and check out. The price is for Dufour duo. In general you have price competitive on Italy but not on France … If you want any other explications, please send me a questionary, I haven't problem to prepare. Thanks for all. Enrico G. Thanks for your help in finding us a boat to charter. Next time it will be easier now that we have our boat leaders licence (which was quite complicated to get, and took 5 days from taking the exam to receiving the certificate). We were given a Sun Odyssey 29.2 (1998) in the end (and not the Maxi 77 – I never saw the Maxi 77 so couldn't compare, but I think the Sun Odyssey is better). It took a little bit of time getting the boat which we took at 4.00 pm (I think the oil needed changing in the engine) so there was quite a bit of waiting on the Saturday. Other minor criticisms were that nobody told us that the water tank in the boat was empty so we had no water on the first night, and the gas bottle ran out also after just one day (although there was a spare) – but the staff (Robi) were very helpful and brought us, for instance, new batteries for the GPS. We had a great sailing week and will definitely be sailing again in Croatia one of these days. Many thanks. David. our charter vacation with KROKI company was very good. Everything was All the Marina yacht bases are new, not too expensive and well organised. We had a really nice trip and will surely repeat experience next year. Regarding the charter vacation in Croatia our comments are positive and we are satisfied by the services offered. We have had a very nice trip and visited all the islands between Split and Mliet, and the weather was always good. When we arrived in Trogir the chartered boat was ready in the morning already and the staff was very kind. The only complaint we have is about the boat, which in spite of its age (3rd season only) had almost all the electronic devices out of service. Luckily they were not so important for the cruise, but we could count only on the speed and depth instruments, while autopilot and wind instruments were unusable. Now it is too early to say what we shall do on next summer vacations, but please keep me informed for your offer for 2005. Have a nice day Regards Maurizio My vacation was very good. You have a wonderful country, unexploited and unique. Your route was excellent, thank you very much!!!! I have no complains with regard to you. The only complains is with regard the charter company and the skipper. Charter company: when we arrived they had not received the last mail, so Sunday morning we had to spend time shopping, and couldn't sail until 10am . Skipper: inflexible in general; and made us sleep last night in Biograd marina against our wishes, because he wanted to spend the night with his family. I suppose this is a problem all skippers have… For the rest, thank you very much! Deborah Mora. We found the charter company to be very efficient and welcoming.Everything was as promised and the boat was very clean and well equipped.We would not hesitate to charter through Meridijan again when we next charter-possibly next year.Thank you also for your fast answers to e-mails-it was very easy to deal with you and you answered our questions well. Kind regards Penny T. Overall we had an excellent time! Everything went very smoothly in terms of the booking, transfer from Split to Trogir (although we still would have preferred to arrive directly there as planned), etc. Croatia was an awesome place to visit and the less populate dislands like Vis were a real highlight! I would not try to do a one-way hire again due to the issues encountered having 2 different agents (see below), however it was good to be able to not have to back-track. We did indeed have an incident where we unfortunately had no other choice but to use the motor and accidentally ran over some ropes in the process - this meant the propellor shaft had rope wrapped around it. We dived and cut almost all of it off, but there was some small amounts of rope remaining (that could not be cut off) and caused damage to the casing on the shaft. We had to pay €500 as EuroYacht claimed the boat needed to be taken out of the water - apparently this was then not even being done immediately and would be done at the end of the season. Some other feedback: The yacht had a new type of anchor that appears to be very hard to set (other boats with similar new anchor style had similar problems with drifting on the windy day). It tends to lay on its' side rather than have the grabbing points take to the bottom... you might like to feed this back to the owner. In moderate to low winds, this was not a problem, but in the Pakleni Islands (where there is low land and little good shelter for a tall mast) in high winds it was impossible to find an area where the anchor would dig into the sand enough to hold the yacht. The only other issue was with the helm. The wheels at both steering positions were wobbly when we got on the yacht and when we asked (this did not seem right to us) the check-in agent at Dubrovnik, he said this was "normal". On check-out, the agent in Split made a big deal about this and said it was not normal. After a lot of arguing (they were both very aggressive) and talking to the agent in Dubrovnik on the phone several times (he was telling us on the phone that the wheel was like that and it was normal, but on the phone to the Split agent he was telling them it wasn't (or so the Split agent was relaying to us!), they agreed not to charge damage.... we could not possibly have cuased the condition and it was easy for them to fix knowing that mechanism in detail. Finally, it would be useful to have additional insurance offered to reduce the excess you must pay in the event of unintentional damage to the yacht (ie pay €100 to reduce the excess from €1600 to 100€ or something like that).
